Black Watch was originally a site-specific piece integrated into Edinburgh’s drill hall.

For its long touring life the set was re-imagined as a temporary military encampment of containers, portakabins and scaffolding towers.

The interior of a tank is the same size as a pool table. Our pool table was played on, sat inside, fought across, and slit open from the inside to give birth to two Black Watch soldiers.

“An astonishing artistic whirlwind. The world must see this play. Immediately.”

The Herald

“Put simply, it’s essential that you see Black Watch.”

New York Observer

“A storming heart-stopping production like some great dirty ballet of pulsating machismo and terrible tenderness”

The Guardian

“Electrifyingly imaginative images”

Independent on Sunday

“Robustly inventive […] completely brilliant”

Sunday Telegraph
